The definition of innovation in the workplace is a new idea or invention that improves the way something works or is done. Innovation in the workplace can be in the form of new software, a new form of communication, a new tool, or anything else that has been made possible due to a new technology.

In today’s world, there are many things to look for in a company that it is time for a business owner to take a closer look at their current technology. An individual working for a company may have created a new idea that the company has not seen before, and so if the business has not had an innovation strategy in place before, it is likely that the company may be losing out on a great idea. While some of these innovations may have come from a new product or service that was introduced, it can be hard to prove this fact with the invention of a new company product, because it would require an individual to actually try out the new product and see how well it performs, before putting it on paper.
